This enterprising youngster, Mason Kantowski, set up a lemonade stand Sunday to capitalize on the extra traffic his Mill Street neighborhood is getting. Flooding at the end of their street has drawn many visitors, in spite of barricades.
Michelle Canales, 8, of Lewisville has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Texas Pageant.
On a pageant to be held July 31st-August 1st in Addison, she will compete for the title of Miss Jr. Pre-Teen Texas. The winner of that pageant gets a cash prize and a trip to Disneyland and Hollywood.
Michelle is a 2nd grader at Hedrick Elementary in Lewisville, where her teachers are Mrs. Outlaw and Mrs. Wilkerson.

Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa - we think) at LLELA Lewisville Lake - There are not massive patches of these (that we've found), but you can find a few of them scattered around. We've had the bluebonnet pictures up for awhile, so we thought we'd give some equal time to these.
Well, last night's storm seems to have caused problems for some - with downed trees or scattered power outages. The bright side is that Lewisville Lake got a good boost from the 0.5 - 1 inch rain. (Our gauge showed about 0.5). At 520 feet, we are now just 2 feet below conservation pool, and the lake is 91% full.
At the City Council meeting on Monday, March 16th, Mayor Dean Ueckert proclaimed the day as Lewisville Rotary Day - celebrating Lewisville Noon Rotary and Lewisville Morning Rotary, which were established in Lewisville in 1962 and 1995 respectively. Rotary International has 34,000 clubs and 1.2 million members in 220 countries. Established in 1905, it is celebrating its 110th birthday.
As you can see from the membership represented, they are a who's who of the community.
Rotarians support many local charitable and community service projects, including Student of the Month Recognition, blood drives, Holiday Flag Distribution Programs, Flag Retirement Ceremonies, scholarship contributions, Backpacks for Back-to-School, LHS and HHS 4-Way Test Speech Contests, LHS and HHS Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Household Hazardous Waste Collection, CCA Food Pantry Support, Dictionaries for Lewisville ISD 3rd Graders, the STEM Initiative at Central ES, Central ES Adopt-a-School, Interact Programs at Lewisville HS and Hebron HS, the Western Days Car Show, the Bunny Breakfast and Breakfast with Santa and many others over the years.
These monstrous hydraulic hammers on tracks were used to demolish the south side of the Fox Avenue bridge and pedestrian walkway over I-35E on Friday night. They'll continue Saturday night.
