A bit after 4 PM Saturday, Lewisville Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of Uecker Lane in Lewisville, just north of F.M. 3040. The house appeared to be gutted, and smoke could be seen from as far away as Flower Mound. Fire Chief Rick Lasky said there were no injuries, and that the cause of the blaze is under investigation, as is standard practice.

The house was unoccupied and had been condemned since 2009, when neighbors had petitioned the city to take action against the substandard property. The house had been abandoned, and was occasionally used by transients. Photos taken inside and outside of the structure and presented to the Lewisville City Council showed extreme dilapidation.

The property's owner in Denton County tax records is Sharon Valk, of Fort Worth, who has owned the property since early 2008.
