Beginning, Monday, April 11, 18-wheelers and other commercial vehicles will be prohibited from driving in the left lane of the three lane section of the 35Express project limits.

This restriction will be in place along Interstate 35E from Swisher Road in the Lake Cities area to I-635 in Dallas.

This change is needed to increase safety in the work zone for motorists and construction crews. Once construction of the 35Express project is completed in mid-2017, the restriction will be lifted.

Signs alerting motorists of this change will be placed every two miles and will be enforced by local law enforcement officials.

The 35Express project is an expansion of I-35E from U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County to I-635 in Dallas County. For more information on the 35Express project, visit or call 214-483-7777.
