Pedestrians Struck on Fox Avenue

Monday night at approximately 6:45 p.m., Lewisville Police Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fox Avenue for a Major Accident involving two pedestrians. Witnesses reported that two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle, while attempting to cross Fox Avenue in an area where there was no crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle involved was traveling eastbound on Fox Avenue, and remained at the location until officers arrived. The driver, whose name is not being released at this time, is cooperating with the Investigator. Both pedestrians were transported by Careflight to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Tx, where they are listed as being in Critical but Stable condition. The names of the pedestrians are not being released at this time, pending notification of a family member.

Lewisville Police Lt. Scott Haynes said that there was no sign of any driver intoxication, and that no charges were anticipated to be filed. The pedestrians did not cross at the crosswalk.

All four sides if the intersection of Fox Avenue and Edmonds have crosswalks.

Update 2/5, 1:36 p.m.: Police say the two pedestrians, males, ages 24 and 36 failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle. Police believe alcohol was a contributing factor with the pedestrians. The two are listed in stable condition at Parkland Hospital.
